Create a high-level introduction to Building Code course for aspiring Building Officials and
NSBOA members that targets a Gunning Fog Index at or around 11. The course must be placed
on the nsboa.ca Learning Management System, but it should also have the capability of being
taught in person. The course must consist of 6 to 12 modules, including instruction, activities,
and quizzes, and have 4 hours of educational instruction. The educational instruction script
must be written so that it can be easily updated and inserted over the course content.
The course content must include, but is not limited to:
- How to become a Building Official / Levels of Qualification / where Building Officials receive
their authority. - Building Code layout / navigation
- Nova Scotia Building Code Regulations layout / navigation
- Building Code Referencing
- Reference Documents
- Classifying a Building
